How do we see it?
St. Ivan lighthouse was built in 1853. It is located on the most distant islet of the small archipelago in front of Rovinj. This islet is actually a 70 x 50 meter rock with a relatively easily accessible shore and shallow waters, which makes St. John an ideal destination for families with children that would like to spend a Robinson Crusoe type of holiday.
ACCOMMODATION
The 23 m high lighthouse tower offers fabulous view. There are two four-bed apartments in the lighthouse building. The islet has a berth where smaller boats can be pulled out with a crane. Due to splendid underwater sites and numerous species of fish, this destination is very popular for those looking to get away from the everyday life, as well as for those that like to go fishing and diving.
BEACH
Rock formation on St. Ivan is ideal for suntanning. There are two beaches with shallow waters on opposite sides of the islet. We advise swimmers to be cautious and not to swim far away from the coast due to changing currents. Depths of the sea that surrounds St. Ivan vary from ten meters to forty meters where the seabed is rocky and rich in flora and species of fish. St. John is perfectly suited for underwater and sports fishing.
TRANSFER
Transfer from the port of Rovinj is charged an extra 100 EUR per apartment. We recommend transfers early in the morning (departure time before 9 am). The trip to the lighthouse on Mr. Gordan Kutinyach's boat takes 30 minutes, depending on weather conditions. Disembarking on the islet in the afternoon is difficult due to strong western winds.
THE STORY
Legend has it that a Venetian doge was navigating in the direction of Rovinj in unfavorable weather conditions. His crew spotted the dangerous cliffs of St. Ivan on time and changed their navigation route. The doge vowed to St. Ivan to light him a candle as high as a cathedral tower if he made it safe and sound to Rovinj. After having arrived safely to Rovinj, the doge forgot about his vow. Since he was in a hurry back to Venice he did not even light a little candle on. He remembered that he had not kept his promise several months later when he found himself in the middle of a tempest in the same area. His ship was thrown into the cliffs of St. Ivan and the whole crew along with the doge disappeared in the stormy sea.

Pes mora biti čipiran, imeti mora potni list in veljavno cepljenje proti steklini.
Vstop v državo je dovoljen samo tistim pasmam bulterierjev, ki jih priznava FCI (Mednarodni kinološki klub), lastnik pa ima potrdilo o izvoru psa. Križanci bulterierjev ne smejo vstopiti na Hrvaško. Če je pes križanec bulterierja, se domneva, da je križanec bulterierja.

You can’t get to the lighthouse by your car – you have to provide parking in the place of your departure to the lighthouse. We can check for you a possibility of using a secured car parking on your requirement.
A medical help is provided in the nearest towns. In case of emergency, the transport is provided by a speedboat or a helikopter.
In case of stromy sea, when the transfer is not possible, the lighthouse keeper wil offer you an adequate accomodation.

Musím konstatovat, že s tak čistým ubytováním jsem se zatím v Chorvatsku nesetkal. Jelikož jsem byl na majáku, majitel zde nebyl, jen správce majáku. Ten byl neobyčejně přátelský a ochotný. Celkem musím konstatovat, že vzhledem k mému pracovnímu vytížení, byla na dovolená na majáku neobyčejně pohodová a regenerující.
s majakem a ubytovanim jsme byli velmi spokojeni, i obsluha majaku byla byzvadna nevyhoda byla ze nebylo z duvodu skalnateho pobrezi kde zaparkovat lod a v pripade velky vln jsem musel jet parkovat bez rodiny do pristavu ( nechtejte vedet kolik tam stala noc)a pokud vlny nebyly tak parkovat na otevrenem mori a vzdy si v noci po navratu z mesta zaplavat.... jinak asi kdyby jsme s sebou nemeli lod, tak nevim co bychom tam tak dlouho delali. Kvalita ubytovani predcila nase ocekavani
